The Rule Book
Every site has them, this one included, so read carefully and try not to break them.
*Be active. I cannot stress this enough. Don't leave straight after joining or post once or twice a month, it's not fair on people you might be roleplaying with. If you are going away for a while, then just drop a note to either the admins or on the Leave of Absence thread. It helps a lot.
*One character per account. This saves everyone a lot of confusion about who you're roleplaying as. Plus helps you roleplay a lot easier if you know who you're posting as and who you owe specific replies to.
*Respect. Remember that saying treat others how you'd like to be treated? Keep that in mind when you're here. This goes for both the admins as well as each other, both in and out of character. If there is any bad language directed at someone out of character that is intend to cause them harm, a warning will be sent out. Everyone wants to be treated with respect, so lets keep it any bad thoughts we have to ourselves.
*Registry names You can register with whatever name you like, just as long as it's nothing rude, offensive or obscene. If anyone's found with names that are like this, we will ask you to delete your account and register with a new username. But once your application has been posted, even in a Work in Progress stage, please change it to your characters first middle and last name with capitals at the start of their names. Like Ulfric Stormcloak.
*God Modding Obviously no-one's perfect and that goes for your characters as well. No God modding, Mary-Sues or Gary Stus. If we find a character who is close to do this, we will ask you to change a few things to make it a bit more realistic. Bare in mind, that your characters are allowed to be good at things, but try to balance it out a bit.
*Power Playing Only if certain events take place or you have permission from both and admin and the person you are roleplaying with, may you Power Play. This can be very rare, so we highly recommend that you do not do this. It is highly unfair to anyone your roleplaying with and you wouldn't want it done back at you. We expect you to control your own characters and not others.
*Face Claims You do not need a definite face claim, but it would help in visualizing your character better. If you have a face claim, it cannot be a real person. It has to be from Skyrim, whether it's a screenshot or something else. If you find a fanart of a character, use it, but credit the person who drew it. If you find someone from the actual game, even better. Anything to help us visualize your character the better.
*Posting We have a 400 word count here at Tale of the Sky. Please make sure you stick to this at least. We do not accept anything less than this, especially one liners. If you can match your partners post level than that's even better. Though please bare in mind if your RP partner bumps out a 1000 word or so reply, try to get around this much as well. It's only fair, even if you have to ramble a bit. We understand that sometimes you have off days where your busy or your muse levels are low, but try your best.
*Grammar This is important. You need to have a good grasp on spelling and grammar to be able to post here. Making a few mistakes is fine, we're all human, we make them occasionally. But simple things like punctuation, spelling and grammar shouldn't be too much of a problem. There is a spell checker on the post box so you can see any mistakes you've made there. Similarly there's also MS Word which definitely helps with this sort of thing. If we find that you're making too many mistakes, we'll notify you about it.
*Graphic Sizes Icons should be 100x100 pixels and any signatures you have should not be more than 400x300 pixels so that they don't stretch the board. If found to do so, we will as you to take the image down, re-size it and then place it back on.
*Content This board, like most others, is a PG-13. It states it clearly in the proboards rules and we shall stick to it. If your characters are engaging in some naughty business, please make it fade to black. I will allow some swearing in character, but too much would place you with a warning. Violence is allowed in moderation and should not get so far out of hand the admins have to intercept to tone it down a bit. Please be aware that there might be 13 year olds on here.
*Dragonborns As said in the races board, you can only have a Dragonborn character if you have at least one other active character who's been on here for more than four weeks and has been in three active threads already. You have to be active to be able to play a Dragonborn as they are vital to a part of the plot later on. You can make a current character a Dragonborn, but we have to make sure you're going to be active. We can only have a certain amount of Dragonborns so if you go meet the previous requirements please contact Duck for more information. More info on this will be posted the more members we get.
