AGE: 27 GENDER: Male SPECIES: Orsimer BIRTHPLACE: Narzulbur CURRENT RESIDENCE: Wilds of Skyrim BIRTH DATE: 19th of Last Seed, 4E 176 SEXUALITY: Ko doesn't really care for other people nor love, therefore he does call himself asexual, as he doesn't care for making those special relationships with people. However, being raised in a Stronghold with his loving mother, he learned not to judge others, therefore, if he were ever to have an actual sexuality, it would more than likely be Pan-Sexual. RELIGION:Being raised in a Stronghold where Malacath was their one true god, Ko tends to believe in him, however he sometimes give respects to other gods and goddesses as well if he happens to pass by one of their Shrines. GUARDIAN STONE: Warrior JOB: Ko became a Mercenary after leaving his Stronghold. He basically is paid to protect people, weather they are going to one place or another, or if they need him protecting them at their home for whatever reason. He also rarely takes quests from people to help them out and earn some coin if he needs it. FACTION:Although he doesn't really stay in one place, nor does he primarily like fighting others unless given a good reason, Ko commonly associates with the Imperial Legion and the Empire, because he does believe more in their beliefs than that of the Stormcloaks. FACTION POSITION: Because he only goes to Solitude, where the main location of The Imperial Legion lies, whenever he is called upon or summoned, he is considered a grunt in the Legion, although one of the few revered due to his ability to crush in human skulls.
SUPERIOR ABILITY: II STRONGEST ABILITIES: MAJOR ABILITIES: MINOR ABILITIES:- Sneak
- Archery
- Light Armor
- One Handed
- Pickpocketing
- Speech
- Magic
APPEARANCE:BASIC; Ko stands at roughly five feet and eleven inches to twelve feet and one inches - depending on his posture - with dark green skin and black hair, of which is of medium length and tied up near the back of his head. He has one caramel eye - his right one - that works just fine, the other pure white due to an accident with his sister because she was playing with magic. He also has three scars that start on his lower left cheek, and they stagger around and through his left eye, however he wears read war paint over them so that they aren't too noticeable. He has two lower canines that jut out of his jaw just enough for you to notice, and they sometimes slur his speech if he isn't paying attention to what he is saying. If you happen to catch him without his armor, you'll see that he's rather well built and muscular, and perhaps could beat someone in am arm wrestling match if he wanted to.
CLOTHING; His common ware is steel branded armor, with boots and bracers to match. All of his armor seems worn and torn, however that's just due to all of the use he has had for it. Strapped to his back are one of two weapons: either a rather well crafted steel war hammer or a rather worn down Orcish Battleaxe, although more so the battleaxe than the hammer, the axe of which he seems to prize greatly. On a rare occasion will he ever wear a helmet, however that is only for special cases, such as facing strong enemies and the need for head protection. Other than that, his garb is rare usual and perhaps a little too common, aside from a small sack under his armor he uses for small things. Then again, Ko hasn't been too big on what he wears. As long as it keeps you from dying, right?
WORD COUNT: 327 PERSONALITY:QUIET; A rather quiet one, Ko prefers to keep to himself rather than mess with other people. This, along with his large and rather intimidating frame, armor, and weapons, as well as his usually gruff or even pissed off expression, can make Ko look rather mean or even evil. However, this is not entirely the case. Ko just believes in not talking unless you are spoken to, or for good reason. Or course, even the best reason probably can't get him to talk, however, that's just the way Ko is; liking to be left alone unless said talking can earn him a bit of money. He, of course, it commonly a nice guy, although he doesn't like showing this to people he just met.
OBSERVANT; Due to his quiet attitude, Ko has a knack for being observant, and, thus, knows things such as gossip or intelligence that people might not otherwise know. Many people who don't know him believe that he's an idiot because he rarely ever talks or does anything besides smashing skulls in, however the observant side of him has allowed him to prove people wrong, to a certain extent. Plus, it's interesting to see someone get dragged away by the guards after thinking that you are an idiot, and spilling a secret otherwise needing to be kept within hearing range of you because they thought you were too stupid to understand what you were saying. Am I right?
FIERCE; A rather fierce brute, Ko is a fighter and barbarian to heart, and a fierce fighter when it comes right down to it. Some people are amazed at how he can take down enemies, others simply willing to keep their distance from the 'mindless brute' then get their heads taken off by his battleaxe. Due to his ability passed down to he and his kin for generations - called the Berserker Rage by outsiders more than Orc Kin - Ko commonly will go into battle head first, even so with a giant, and can commonly take care of himself in a battle, especially if he is defending someone. He is only fierce and battle ready, of course, only if you give him a reason to. He will rarely hurt someone or something unless they give the first swing, and even then, he will commonly - and rather simply - disarm those such as women if he thinks that they are too weak to fight him.
INTELLIGENT; As stated before, Ko can be a rather smart guy, even though he spent more than half of his life in an Orc Stronghold. He was good enough to learn about the ways of Skyrim and their Nords even before he left, and thus uses it to try and get along with them, and others he has learned about. Although not fully caught up on everything that goes on in the world, he can usually have a nice conversation with someone about some things. His favorite hobby when he's not staining his armor with blood is reading a good book. Although, since he's had very few growing up, he's had to live with reading a few books more than once, and, although it takes him a while to read some books, he always get through them eventually.
CHIVALROUS; Most of the Orcs in his home were female, and his mother taught him well, Ko is a rather chivalrous type of Orc. He doesn't believe in hurting others - especially women and children - who cannot defend themselves, and, if in a fight when a woman smaller and seemingly weaker than he, Ko will commonly and rather simply disarm them before hurting them if he thinks that they can't defend themselves against someone like him. He will also commonly respect his elders, and those who seem worthy of it. He has a tendency to put himself between those who cannot defend themselves and harm's way, even if he is not a hired mercenary, or even if he does not know them at all. He has a rather large heart at times, even though he rarely shows it outwardly, nor does he speak it.
RESERVED; Due to living in an Orc Stronghold, and learning that you can't trust outsiders unless they've proven themselves worthy, Ko rarely shows his interest in others - besides for work, of course - and rarely tries to go out of his way to make friends. To him, you have to give him a good reason for him to trust you, and not just because you payed him. Sure, he doesn't believe that people should trust him right off, either; for all he cares, unless he's trying to earn your trust, he won't mind if he does not get your trust right away. Trust and friendship is something that is earned, even if it takes what seems like forever, not something that is simply given to you for coin.
BLOOD KIN; This title is earned, and not simply given to you. Usually, if one is not an Orc but wishes to enter a Stronghold, said person would have to retrieve an item for those within the Stronghold or help them with a problem. If you succeed, you gain entrance into the Stronghold, and, thus, slowly gain the Orc's trust and so on. To be called Blood Kin is commonly a rather well respected and worthy title, and is gladly accepted and even worked for by a few people. The title is also honorable, especially to Orcs, so if Ko happens to decide to call you this, then you've just been rewarded something that both he and his actual kin hold dearly and rarely give this out to just anyone. To have this given out to someone close to Ko, well, they probably won't know that they were that close to him in the first place.
WORD COUNT: 975 HISTORY: A Stronghold is a place in Skyrim where Orcs ban together to in small communities, filled with a longhouse to sleep in, a few huts, a smelter and place to build weapons, and a chief, of whom is the only allowed to have wives - yes, wives - and children, and only steps down when he is killed by one of his sons - preferably his oldest - in a battle. In such a Stronghold is where Ko was born.
He had one older full blooded sister when he was born, as well as four other older siblings, his mother the third wife of his father. He was the first of his father's sons who was second born instead of first, however, due to his rowdiness just days after birth, his father couldn't really complain. Ko lived a rather simple life growing up, learning how to hold weapons since he could walk and trying to work a forge at a young age. Most all Orcs did learn such a thing growing up, both men and women. There were those, such as his sister - who was two years older - who preferred magic, of course.
Ko grew up with a certain set of morals, however his mother - of whom had traveled to Skyrim from Hammerfell when she was a girl, and had joined the Stronghold with them and later stayed when they passed - believed that, although her husband disliked it, her two children should be able to learn of the outside world and what went on in it. She often read to them when they were going to bed, and plenty of her stash of books were those of different races, rather than being that of the Orc culture. It was probably because of this that Ko slowly grew to liking the outside world more than his slow and silent little world. The more his mother told him, and the more he slowly began to read on his own, the more he wanted to be an adventurer of some sort. But, for the longest time, the young Orc held back about his dreams, knowing that it went against most of his people's customs.
The thing he liked most other than dreaming of travels was fighting. He and his sister were commonly, albeit rarely, let just outside the confines of the Stronghold to play and mock battle and practice their skills with the other children. While his favorite was playing with weapons, his sister's was magic. When they were just eleven and thirteen, the duo were playing by themselves, Ko having his sister practice spells that would weaken his stamina and movement ability - that of course, didn't harm him too much - to see how much he could take and if he could find a way to stop it. But, during this, his sister, who had yet to actually fully grasp magic, had accidently cast a wrong spell while duel casting; one which immobilized the enemy with a flash of light and another which was only supposed to lightly shock and thus paralyze them. She must have underestimated the spells, or had read the book wrong, because when she cast the spells, the next thing Ko knew, he was on the ground, and his mother and another of his father's wives were trying to rouse him, with one of his half sisters holding his own blood sister as she stared at him with watery eyes. Ko made it out alright, however earn a few scars and the permanate blindness in his left eye.
The older he grew, the more the need to get out of his prison became stronger. He had spoken often about it in secrecy to his siblings and even the wives of his father, about leaving to freedom and offering for them to follow. There were only one or two of his siblings who agreed, however even his own mother was frantic about him actually leaving. It wasn't as if anyone would stop him from leaving; in fact, a few of the older men and women had already left to start their own lives outside of the Stronghold. However, Ko knew his father would be greatly displeased, and that those who had previously left were not welcomed back because his father, though fair, thought of those that left as traitors, and wanted nothing more to do with them. They were not welcomed back, and that was one thing that his mother worried about: that once he left, he would never come back.
This need of getting away only worsened when the war broke out. Ko, being the type of person whom believed, like his mother, that those with kind hearts and good intentions were allowed anywhere, just so long as they didn't cause any trouble, was almost antsy at the age of twenty to join the Legion. His father had called the war worthless, and that things were fine the way they were, so long as everyone kept to themselves. Of course, it was hard to stop someone who believed rather strongly in something. Especially when just a few years later, he had a good reason for himself and others to get out: dragons. A traveler had stopped by the stronghold not two or three years ago and had told the Orcs that he had seen a rather large cave not too far from their home, and an empty dragon mound not too far from that. He had warned them that the dragon was more than likely living there, obvious from the dead goats and deer strung around the outside of the cave, and the grumblings coming from within. Ko's father laughed and that they could take care of themselves if the Dragon decided to attack them. Not that Ko agreed, of course.
Having been listening to the burning from within, and the distant yet close grumblings and roars of the dragon, Ko, now twenty-four, decided that it was time to leave, and offered anyone who wanted to go with him to follow him if they so choose. His father had merely laughed, mocking him for being a 'coward' for running for a 'puny' dragon. Ko had managed to ignore the taunts, however, and got packed to leave; his mother and sister crying as he did so. His mother, worried more so about her husband and the others in the Stronghold, had decided to stay for a little longer, and promised to meet her son in one of the nearby mining communities when it was safe. His sister, unable to leave her mother and the safety of the Stronghold, stayed as well.
To say that Ko was disappointed was an understatement. Although he didn't say so openly, he had greatly wanted his sister and mother to follow him, however he said nothing, simply packing up some food, two of his weapons, some clothes and armor, and left without looking back.
It was about two weeks before he heard the news about the Stronghold, and by then he was too far away to help. It was apparent that the traveler right about the dragon; several had spotted it flying around the mountain, a few farmers reporting it coming down and taking their livestock as food. There had been a few soldiers who had managed to get a closer look at the cave it stayed it, however they were quickly chased off by the beast as it went to land. The worst had yet to come, though; a few hunters had reported the beast had attacked the Stronghold near the mountain, and, although they had tried to help fend it off with their bows and arrows, the dragon destroyed nearly all of the Stronghold and had killed many of the Orcs inside. Who the dragon killed, Ko wasn't able to find out.
The Orc was caught in between going back or simply moving on. He was still in mourning, fearing for the worst of his family, and was not sure he could face their dead bodies if they were one of the many who had died. After a few days of weary traveling and fighting off animals such as bears to releave his stress and guilt for leaving, Ko finally chose to keep moving. Even if he went back, he felt it was his fault that many were dead, that he could have helped if he only had stayed. He had mourned for the longest time, slowly finding his own way into the world as he did so. He finally took up being a Mercenary to earn some easy money, as well as affiliating with the Imperial Legion in the hopes of helping them in their quest.
A few years have passed now, and Ko has made a small name for himself. He believes he has no home to go to, and simply wanders around whenever he doesn't have some sort of job to do. Oh, what fun getting out of the Stronghold has been.
