He had heard of something rather important that he might be able to find. And maybe earn some septim as well, too, but still, something he could find. No one seemed to know where it was exactly, although it was important enough that the Jaarl of Solitude had decided to put out a reward on if they found it. Truth be told, Del himself really didn't know what he was looking for; he knew he had to find a cave, and that he had to either find someone to go in it with, or be very careful when entering it. Some people didn't return at all from it, he heard, and that was a warning enough for the Argonian to stay on his toes, even if he was just searching for it as of now. Better be safe than sorry, as he always liked to say. That, and his father had taught that to him so much that it was now engraved into his brain. Or at least he had assumed as such.

Markarth wasn't much different from the other holds, it seemed. It was rather bleak, and mostly wilderness and snow everywhere. There were animals here and there, however the Argonian had left them alone as of currently. They ran away as quickly as possible, anyway, and he hadn't ran into anything that had tried to attack him, anyway. It probably would have been worse had he had Valiant; that horse could probably be heard from a mile away, one reason he had left it back at the stables in Markarth. Although he wouldn't be able to travel as fast as he could with the horse, he wouldn't be as easily detected by anything that would want to bring harm to him. On the other hand, he probably should have left Titan home if that were the case.
The dog trotted happily beside it's master, barely making a sound as it looked at it's surroundings with a rather strange happiness in it. Then again, in missions like this, he was never really brought along for the fun or protection. But Del, thinking that he needed to at least bring Titan as some form of protection or backup, decided to haul him along. The dog, of course, seemed to care less about it, and instead looked around the slightly wooded area with a sort of wonder only he could have.

Steam rose up from the natural hot springs in the Earth, and, on a decent sized hill nearby, two Mammoths tromped along, one happily trumpeting as the other ate. Del made sure to steer clear of them; he wouldn't doubt there being giants nearby, and he didn't feel like getting too close to one, for fear of getting attacked. He was sure one could easily defeated him without a second glance if it wanted to, and he was sure that he wanted to stay out of that kind of trouble anytime soon. He had heard plenty of times how giants could easily crush you, and how they didn't like you getting too close to their livestock. He was sure those stories were true, and he didn't plan on trying them out anytime soon. He valued his life a little too much for that, thank you.
As he walked along, Del found himself humming a song he had once heard in an inn. There was a bard singing it, although one of the people there said that he had been singing it wrong, and had given Del the correct lyrics when he questioned the man. Now, as they went about their business of searching for whatever it was they were supposed to be searching for, Del found himself humming it. He really couldn't remember all of the lyrics to it, however he had gotten the tune rather well memorized enough for him to like it. It wasn't every day he hummed as he walked along for a mission, and so he was rather enjoying his time for it. For now, anyways.
